· TYPE LOCALITY. "Altai" [Ulbinsky Mts., E. Altai, Russia].

· RANGE. The Altai of Russia and Mongolia.

· DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. In addition to the nominate form, the ssp. sarytavica Lukhtanov, 1990 has been described from the S. Altai.

· HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Found sporadically on steppe-clad slopes and in meadows at 1,500-2,500 m a.s.l. Flight period: June-July.

· SIMILAR SPECIES. E. kefersteini: UPS bands with black dots.
