• TYPE LOCALITY, "...aus den Gebirgen bei Genf [Mountains near Geneva, Switzerland).
• RANGE. High-montane areas and tundras of the Palaearctic Region.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Represented by the following subspecies: ssp. bryonides Sheljuzhko, 1910 (= heptopotamica Krulikowsky, 1904, nomen nudum) - N. Tian-Shan, Dzhungarsky Alatau, the Altai and Sayan; ssp. schintlmeisteri Eitschberger, 1983 - the Far East; ssp. kamtschadalis RjLiber, 1907 - Kamchatka; ssp. sheljuzhkoi Eitschberger, [1984] - the Chukot Peninsula; ssp. caucasica Verity, 1908 - the Caucasus Major and Minor; ssp. turcica Eitschberger et Hesselbarth, 1977 - the Armenian Highland; ssp. adalwinda Fruhstorfer, 1909 (?= bicolorata Petersen, 1947) - the N. European part.
• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Tundras and mountains between 1,500 and 2,500 m a.s.1. Flight period: June-July, unlike the previous species always in a single generation. Host plants in Europe (Eitschberger, Strohl, 1990) - various Brassicaceae, Thiaspi in particular; in Armenia - Arabis caucasica.
